We Want the Real One: Submit Your Photos to Be Featured by Wander & Roam

Not the one where the nursery is perfectly lit and the baby is asleep and every throw is folded just so (though we do love those too).

The real one.

The one where the washcloth is on the floor and the coffee is still semi-warm because you finally got a minute to yourself, and you wrapped your Wander & Roam blanket around you because you wanted... no, needed... something soft and soothing. The one where you are heading to the park with your hair in a messy bun and the baby has spit up seven times already this morning, so you both decide the front yard in a diaper is good enough and it is perfect. The throwback. You and your person on your first date, mid-bite of a french fry, not yet knowing what this life would become.

That one. We want that one.

1. Why We Are Doing This

We live in a world that has developed a very particular idea of what motherhood should look like on a screen. Curated. Saturated. Softened by filters that smooth over the evidence of a life that is genuinely, beautifully full.

At Wander & Roam, we have always been interested in something more honest, the classics. The moments that stand the test of time. The ones that have been happening for centuries and will keep happening long after the algorithm moves on. The photos passed down in black and white from generation to generation, worn soft at the edges, kept in a box that gets opened on quiet afternoons.

We are a brand for mothers and for families. And we know that the most meaningful moments are rarely the ones that are staged. They happen in between. In the candid. The quiet. The tender chaos. The exhausted and radiant existing in exactly the same frame.

We believe that real life, lived with intention and surrounded by beautiful things, is more striking than anything a photographer could set up in an afternoon. And it is more than enough.

2. What We Are Looking For

We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for presence.

Photos we would love to feature:

- Cooking dinner together — the chaos, the laughter, the kid on the counter
- Taste-testing the spatula of birthday cake batter (anyone else, or just us?)
- Time with the kids and the grandparents — the ones that get framed
- A quiet moment — a morning feed, a slow rock, you and your coffee and your journal before anyone else wakes up
- A real outing — the park, the farmers market, the coffee run that took forty-five minutes to get out the door for
- The front yard in a diaper because it was that kind of morning
- The throwback — before baby, before the ring, the moment that started it all
- The beautiful and the busy existing in the same frame

You do not need a professional camera. You do not need a photographer. iPhone photos are welcome. Natural light is beautiful. The realness is the entire point.

3. How to Submit

Tag us on Instagram @wanderandroam.official and use the hashtag #WanderAndRoamReal — and tell us in a caption or DM what is happening in the photo. The moment. The feeling. Whatever you want us to know.

We review submissions on a rolling basis and will reach out personally if we would like to feature your photo. By submitting, you give us permission to share your image across our website, email, blog, and social channels, with full credit to you, always.

4. What Happens When You Are Featured

Your photo will be shared with our community exactly as it is — real, unretouched, and credited to you. We may feature you on our Instagram, in our newsletter, on our blog, or on our website.

Because when one mother sees another mother in a real moment and thinks I know exactly how that feels — something important happens. The isolation that can come with new motherhood loosens, just a little. The pressure to perform for the algorithm lifts. And the reminder that this life is worth it, exactly as it is, in all its simplicity and beauty, gets louder.

That is what community looks like. And we are building ours one real photo at a time.

We cannot wait to see your real one.
