Every Wander & Roam play mat is 3rd party tested to exceed both the U.S. an EU child safety regulations. In addition it goes far beyond California prop-65 testing.

Why not EVA foam?

EVA gets its softness from formamide, a reproductive toxin banned in play mats across France and Belgium since 2010. We never used it. Wander & Roam mats are formamide‑free, phthalate‑free, and BPA‑free. That is not a marketing claim; it is the result of choosing a harder‑to‑manufacture, more expensive material from the beginning.

Every layer is fused in a single heat press under extreme heat and pressure; adhesives never enter the building. What comes out is one seamless piece. Inside sits a 3.1″ premium memory foam core compressed to ½″, which is exactly as overengineered as it sounds.

1. Non-toxic TPU top skin: Waterproof, wipe-clean printed surface.

2. High-density bonding layer: Physically fused in the heat press. No adhesives, no joints.

3. Premium PU memory foam core: 3.1″ (8 cm) compressed to ½″ (1.3 cm) for rebound resilience and support that doesn’t collapse.

4. High-density bonding layer: The mirror of layer two. Seamless on both faces.
